Aboriginal families support group. Aboriginal families gather once a week in this social setting that offers helpful resources and workshops about self-care, health, and wellness in mind, spirit, and body. Participants also enjoy arts and crafts. Aboriginal Family Gathering teaches positive parenting and provides a way to meet new friends and have parent/child interaction within the group. Childminding is provided.

Chinese Parent Support Circle
Cantonese Circle at South Vancouver Neighbourhood House is now accepting new referrals. Learn new ways to nurture and love your child. Find understanding, support and encouragement to be the parent you want to be. The self-help parent support circle is led by two trained facilitators. Confidential environment open to all parents with children and teens. The Circle also provides on-site child minding.

Family Support and Domestic Violence Program
Family Support and Domestic Violence Program
This confidential, community-based program provides individualized support to women who are currently experiencing or have experienced violence in their relationships. Works with women and children to build on their strengths and enhance safety. Services include counselling, advocacy, safety planning, accompaniment, information and connection to resources. Outreach is available so women could be seen at where they feel comfortable. Accepts self and agency referrals.

Single Moms’ Support Group
Supporting single mothers towards personal and economic independence.
Come and meet other women, connect with resources, share stories and support in a friendly space. Weekly group meetings connect single moms in the community for peer support, resources and information.
Groups serve women of all ages and from all backgrounds and are based on the belief that every woman knows what she needs to achieve her goals—she just needs the opportunity to discover her potentials.
