Message to Members of the Community and SVNH Partners regarding COVID-19

Due to increasing concerns about COVID-19, SVNH is taking the following precautionary measures, effective Tuesday, March 17th:

  • SVNH’s main location (6470 Victoria Drive location) and South Hill Neighbourhood Centre (5888 Fraser Street) will be closed to the public. All social programs and rentals are cancelled until further notice.
  • Spring Break OSC Camp, Beulah and South Vancouver Adult Day Centres, and the South Vancouver Food Hub (in partnership with Greater Vancouver Food Bank) will continue to operate for the time being.
  • SVNH telephone lines will remain open to provide information to community members. Most staff are working from home and can be reached through their email or telephone extensions. One-to-one support will be provided to the community over the telephone or via video conferencing, whenever possible. Please contact us for more information at 604-324-6212.

While we understand that SVNH plays a critical role in providing opportunities for social connection and community development, we are taking government and health authority direction seriously by encouraging neighbours to stay at home as much as possible and practice social distancing. Please take care, wash your hands, remain calm, find joy through music and chats on the phone, and feel free to reach out if we can offer any support. Staff will make every effort to continue to play our role in community through creative technology solutions.

We will provide an update once more information is available. Meanwhile, please stay safe and stay in touch.
