At Cedar Cottage Neighbourhood House; we value our community members, our relationships, and our many cultures, languages and generations. We believe in creating community through cooperation, commitment, sharing skills, and play.

In 2010, CCNH participated in the creation of the Kensington-Cedar Cottage Community Plan for Literacy to develop practical and realistic next steps, to build on existing strengths and resources, and to support the community and its literacy initiatives.

Through this process, we knew these three statements to be true, and they now guide our work at CCNH:

  • We nurture cultures and languages
  • We celebrate and share community skills and knowledge
